Words will fall short in describing how absolutely incredible our postpartum care was with Lauren. For 10 straight days my husband and I were given the gift of uninterrupted bonding with our baby girl. Lauren wove herself quietly and seamlessly into our family dynamic. Her very presence brought so much peace of mind while we adjusted to life and to our roles as new parents. She brought calm, confident energy that was a soothing balm to my nervous system. She worked selflessly and silently doing all of the big and little things that allowed us to be fully present as a family.
But that’s not even the best part! Lauren cooked some of the most amazing, grounding, deeply nurturing food I’ve ever tasted. Multiple times a day she brought me freshly made, medicinal meals to keep me hydrated and healthily fueled. She started with easily digestible foods and worked up to more complex dishes once my system could handle them. From lotus seed porridge, herbal milks with saffron, sun infused teas, to the best baked chicken I have ever had, there was not a single thing she brought me that I didn’t love! And there wasn’t a single thing she brought me that my body didn’t NEED; she knew what I needed before I did.
The bodywork I received was absolute heaven. It allowed my nervous system to rest and be fully replenished. It was evident that Lauren cared deeply about my well-being and wasn’t rushing through sessions like other providers might have done. She wasn’t paying attention to the clock, she was paying attention to my healing. She offered daily traditional treatments such as abhyanga (warm oil application), herbal sitz baths, yoni steaming, belly binding, Udvartana (application of herbs powders on the body for lymphatic health), and womb massage.
The herbal component was amazing. I hemorrhaged after birth, and Lauren supported me with much needed blood building herbs. I struggled with hemorrhoids during pregnancy and postpartum and Lauren made me a custom formula that provided tremendous relief. There was absolutely nothing she wasn’t willing to help me with, and because of that I felt incredibly comfortable sharing my struggles and discomforts.
Not only did Lauren provide physical support, she also held space for me to process the emotions that came with a major life change, a new role, relationship shifts, visitors, and compounded sleep deprivation. I never felt judged or hesitant to ask her for help. When I did ask for help, she provided sound advice and gentle suggestions. Not once did she offer unsolicited advice or make me feel like I was doing something wrong. It was truly amazing to witness her capacity to show up on an emotional level, all while working her butt off to care for us for 12+ hours a day for 10 days in a row. What an incredible sacrifice that requires the most selfless heart.
Within the 10 days Lauren was here, I lost all but a few pounds of pregnancy weight (even though I was eating more than I’ve ever eaten in my life), my hair was thicker than it was during pregnancy with zero postpartum hair loss, I was pooping like a champ, my nervous system was stable, my milk supply was well established, my mood and hormones were regulated, I was hydrated, and felt like I could start training for a marathon. This was a direct result of the care I received and a reflection of Lauren’s knowledge and skill. I told her I would gladly have another baby just to have her help again.
Our babe is incredibly calm, happy, and patient. I cannot help but think this is largely due to the stable foundation that was created for us at the beginning of postpartum. Because of Lauren, my fourth trimester has been my favorite and having her support was nothing short of a dream come true. She didn’t just help us survive the first few weeks of postpartum, she helped us thrive. I wish every birthing person had this type of postpartum support. If you have the chance to hire Lauren, do it. You deserve to enter Motherhood with ease and joy, and she is the angel you want to have by your side!
